Violent clashes between police and protesters in Thessaloniki, Greece by Olof Jarlbro

Last week more than 25,000 people joined the demonstration in Thessaloniki, Greece. The protesters were a mix between trade unions, students, taxi drivers and football fans. Clashes between demonstrators and anti-riot police broke out during Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou opening speech at the International Fair in Thessaloniki. The riot continued throughout the night and several thousand students protested against the recent abolition of asylum on their campus.
